Blueprint was founded in January 2019 by Danny Freed after losing a close friend to suicide six years earlier. At the time, Danny knew little about mental health care. In the years that followed, he embarked on a deeply personal journey to understand what his friend had been going through—not to start a company, but simply to learn.
Along the way, he spoke with hundreds of mental health professionals. He was struck by two things: the outdated tools they relied on and the extraordinary passion they brought to their work.
Blueprint was born from a simple yet powerful belief: mental health professionals deserve great tools and technology—not just to deliver exceptional care, but to do so without sacrificing their own well-being.
Though not a clinician himself, Danny has remained deeply committed to ensuring Blueprint is built by clinicians for clinicians. This commitment is reflected in our team—nearly 20% of us are licensed mental health professionals, ensuring the tools we create address the real needs of those who use them.
